The Prairie is set at the time of the Louisiana Purchase. Hoping to find their destiny in the new territory, the Bush Family heads southward in a covered wagon. It also includes a never-before-seen 7½-minute animated sequence, and restores to colour the 'House of Blue Leaves' fight sequence that was first presented in black and white in the U.S. theatrical cut to avoid an NC-17 rating. This unrated and unabridged version of the film has a runtime of 253 minutes.
