The Evandro Case: A Devilish Plot

On April 6, 1992, six-year-old Evandro leaves home to meet his mother at work, but returns when he realizes he has forgotten his mini-game. He would never be seen again.

During the course of the investigation, the "pai de santo" Osvaldo Marceneiro, in prison, confesses to another case and shakes the town of Guaratuba.

A few days after the arrests, the spectaculous press coverage begins to present new developments in the case.

It is in the summer house of the Paraguayan dictator Alfredo Stroessner that Osvaldo Marceneiro and Davi dos Santos Soares describe having been tortured.

The police investigation, accepted by the "Ministério Público", points out that Evandro was kidnapped on the morning of April 6 by Beatriz in her Escort.

Evandro's body is found and the corpse is taken to the Coroner's Office in Paranaguá. It's there that Evandro's father recognizes his son through a small birthmark on his back.

The outcome of the 1998 trial came as a surprise. The repercussion was colossal. How could a jury acquit the "witches of Guaratuba"?
