L'air d'aller

Katrine learns that she needs a lung transplant before Christmas. Jimmy, Gabriel, and Cindy would like to give her parts of their sick lungs. But, for now, all they can do is distract her.

To keep up with his brother Benoit, Jimmy tries to convince his parents that he will introduce a new girlfriend at the gallery opening. Instead, it is Katrine who accompanies Jimmy to the opening, where she is bewildered to discover that her photo is featured among the works of art.

The friends go on a road trip to Vermont in the hopes of getting Bynucin, a medicine illegal in Canada, but which could help Katrine live longer without the need for a lung transplant.

Jimmy supports Katrine, who is just about to have her lung transplant. However, Katrine's parents are beginning to get tired of the nonsense between friends.

After learning about what has happened to Katrine, Jimmy wants to leave work to be with her. However, his boss is fed up with the constant distractions. Katrine tells the others about her new plan, but they are not sure about the idea.

Facing the greatest challenge of her life, Cindy looks for comfort. She comes to realize that, despite their best intentions, people sometimes only make things worse. Her friends, however, are always there to help distract her.

The foursome finds themselves stuck in the middle of nowhere when Gabriel's car breaks down. Sheepish, Gabriel does everything to fix the situation. However, sometimes, by trying too hard, we only make things worse.

While everything is going from bad to worse, the foursome reunites in a bowling alley to spend time together and take their minds off of their problems. However, Katrine is hiding something from her friends.

Katrine's friends and family have never been as worried about her as they are now. Jimmy remembers how his friendship with her began. When Katrine's fate is finally sealed, the foursome is thrust onto a new path which none of them had expected.

The group is unable to tie up all loose ends before Katrine's funeral. It is only once the ceremony is underway that their mysterious accomplice leads them to the last piece of the puzzle. Following this, the friends can now focus on their future.
