Around a hundred of Britain’s 6,000 islands are inhabited by people, leaving the rest to extraordinary animals that have battled the elements and made these wild places their own, which is a familiar scenario for Britain’s coasts.

Britain’s cities and countryside reveal the hidden lives of both the familiar and the more unusual animals as they navigate their urban and rural landscapes. Some, like urban foxes, have found great opportunities in Britain’s cities, while others, like the barn owl, fight it out for meals on Britain’s countryside.
