Comedian Ivan arrives from Venezuela, but there's no room in the Venezuelan share house where he hoped to stay. He meets Scott and Tia at a local cafe, who invite him to stay on their couch for a while. He accepts, but finds their language quite puzzling.

Livin' La Vida Sofa

The couch at Scott and Tia's house is uncomfortable, and possibly infested with crabs. Ivan goes to several housemate interviews, but none of them work out. He returns to Scott and Tia's with bedding and a black eye.

Dead Horse

Scott is going to Bunnings, and invites Ivan to go too. Ivan has never heard of Bunnings, so Tia insists on taking him and buying him a sausage sizzle. Ivan is initially reluctant, but starts to come around when tomato sauce is added.

El Grande Outdoors

Ivan goes camping with Scott and Tia. Tia won't let him take delicious Venezuelan food, Scott is not allowed to take his coffee machine, so Tia is banned from taking her mobile phone. Ivan is the only one who follows the rules.

Walking through the park with Scott and Tia, Ivan discovers that, lacking the crime gangs and armed robbers in Venezuela, Australians are instead afraid of magpies.

Ivan's wish comes true - he is offered an open mike spot at a comedy venue. But he needs to take two paying guests along, and Scott and Tia are both busy that night. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
