Erik makes a shocking confession to his psychiatrist, Dr. Jerome Oziel, whose mistress, Judalon Smyth, gives the police a pivotal tip. Leslie makes a move to represent the Menendez brothers.

Leslie Abramson and Jill Lansing struggle to understand the brothers' motives, and the DA puts Judalon Smyth on the stand as the trial gets underway, sending the media into a frenzy.

After Erik and Lyle confess, Leslie and Jill seek hard evidence to support the brothers' claims of abuse at the hands of their parents; Leslie tries to get Dr. Oziel's tapes thrown out of court.
